An accumulation tank, sometimes called a buffer tank is essentially a large, highly insulated hot water storage system that supports your biomass boiler to ensure that maximum efficiency is achieved. As the name implies it accumulates heat. If energy is not used at the time of generation the accumulator / buffer tank will collect and store it from any source (i.e. biomass or solar) and deliver it when needed for hot water or space heating.
We manufacture and supply a comprehensive range of modern accumulation / buffer tanks. They are well insulated hot water storage systems that vary in size from 1500 to 5000 litres capacity.
They come in array of standard designs or we can custom make them make to your specific needs and requirements, and they all deliver highly efficient storage with a minimum amount of heat loss.
Our accumulation / buffer tanks are ideally suited for a variety of locations such as; factories, offices, shops and large houses. We also can supply sectional accumulation / buffer tanks that have a width of 780mm that will fit through a doorway, these can be built up to any height and capacity.
Mains pressure hot water modules can be also be supplied to meet your hot water needs.
Benefits of Accumulation / Buffer Tanks
· Low retail price, installation and operating costs · Can store heat for long periods of time · Easy to install · Compatible with existing sources of heat – solar and biomass. · Allow for flexible use of heat energy
Example: If your building only uses heat intermittently it is likely that the boiler is sporadically powered up. This is wasteful and costly. A boiler does not have to be working flat out every time you need to feel some heat.
An accumulation / buffer tank allows a boiler to run until the heat store is full. When it returns to its idle state the accumulator / buffer steps in to take care of a building's energy needs no matter how erratic or infrequent. |
